Linda Freeman

Linda Freeman and Chester Freeman specialize in lindy hop and have taught swing dance all over the world on cruises and at dance festivals, worked as dance consultants for films, and hosted a radio and a TV program, The Swing Shift. They have helped thousands of people learn to swing dance since they opened Got2Lindy Dance Studios in the Hudson Valley in 2004.

Chester is director and choreographer of Chester’s Cool Cats and Kittens—a performance class that turns novice dancers of all levels into performance stars—and assistant director and choreographer for the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers in New York City. Linda co-edited the autobiography Frankie Manning: The Ambassador of Lindy Hop.

They also work extensively with children in the schools through arts in education programs. In February 2010 they organized a Hop for Haiti Swing Dance Benefit and raised $6,000 for Doctors Without Borders’ work in Haiti.
