Mark Coleman, MA, is a psychotherapist, coach, and mindfulness meditation consultant. He has been studying mindfulness meditation since 1985 and teaching mindfulness meditation since 1997. A meditation teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, he teaches regularly with Jack Kornfield and Sharon Salzberg in the vipassana (insight mediation) tradition.
Coleman leads wilderness meditation retreats from Alaska to Peru and is author of Awake in the Wild: Mindfulness in Nature as a Path to Self-Discovery. He is also founder and guiding teacher of The Mindfulness Institute, which brings mindfulness meditation to corporate and nonprofit business settings through trainings and coaching. His clients include individual corporate leaders, lawyers, and doctors, as well as organizations like Proctor and Gamble, the Trust for Public Land, and the Center for Whole Communities.
