Masood Ali Khan
Masood Ali Khan, PhD, was born of Indian parents and raised in London, England. He has been a student and practitioner of yoga for two decades, as well as an instructor at the Human and Universal Energy Spiritual Academy. A musician of eclectic tastes, playing the didgeridoo, guitar, and hand drums, he discovered a relatively new percussive instrument, created in 2001 by Panart in Switzerland, called the hang (pronounced hung).
In 2009, Masood Ali Khan recorded his first hang album with the anticipated The Yoga Sessions™ Series from David Schommer's new music label, Yoga Organix, which was distributed by the premier yoga and world music label, White Swan Records. Ali Khan's second album, Hang With Angels, features a collection of known and upcoming artists in the new yoga music and kirtan movement.
Playing music with the greater intention for helping humanity, Masood Ali Khan creates storytelling compositions with captivating melodies to inspire the spiritual aspect of humanity. Combining the power of humanity's healing potential, the hang, an instrument of relaxation, joy, and hope, becomes a medium to transfer truly good intentions within the sound vibrations.
