Solas An Lae
Solas An Lae, pronounced "sulas en lay," is Irish for light of day. The Solas An Lae Dance Company consists of 10 dancers, whose ages range from 12 to 18. All the dancers have been selected through an audition process and rigorously train four to five days a week throughout their season. Formed in 2006 by Deirdre Lowry and Patrick Brown, the Solas An Lae Dance Company presents a stylistic assimilation of traditional Irish dance step work and choreography with greater flexibility of movement and rhythmic patterns, in turn creating a distinctly American synthesis.
