Description

Flourishing, the most fulfilling way to live, involves realizing the best within ourselves while enriching the lives of others. These pursuits might seem opposed—giving to others can lead to compromising or losing vital aspects of ourselves—but self-care is the foundation of intimacy, and intimacy is the culmination of self-care.

Through a combination of lecture, group discussion, and experiential practices drawn from the best of the Western psychotherapeutic and Eastern meditative and yogic traditions, Jeffrey B. Rubin teaches us tools for flourishing, even in challenging times. During the weekend we:

  • Gain clarity and equanimity in the face of the speed that surrounds us
  • Access the untapped creativity within ourselves to imaginatively address the challenges that confront us
  • Handle our emotions wisely
  • Create more harmony between our minds and bodies and engage in genuine self-care

Anyone interested in learning the art of flourishing is invited; mental health professionals, coaches, and others in the helping professions can use these skills in their work.

Required reading: the introduction and first chapter of Rubin, The Art of Flourishing.
