The Comedy of Relationship

Relationships of all kinds—whether lovers, spouses, parents, children, or friends—inevitably involve a collision of differences. Seen with just the right amount of detachment, and viewed from just the right angle, these collisions can become wonderfully funny and delightfully bonding.

Open to both individuals and couples, this workshop led by Richard Borofsky and Antra Kalnins Borofsky reveals how to use our differences and other relationship difficulties—no matter how painful—as an inexhaustible source of good humor, compassionate laughter, and deeper loving.

Through demonstrations, examples from film, plenty of play, and experiential practice, along with group sharing and lots of laughter, we learn how to see the comedy inherent in every relationship. We explore the delicate art of using generous and gentle humor to point out one another’s blind spots, practice holding relationship struggles more lightly, and discover that we are so much more than our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and expectations, and so much more than our limiting identities and stuck patterns of relating.

This workshop is useful for both nonprofessionals and helping professionals.
