Intimate relationships inevitably involve collisions between partners’ differences. Seen with just the right amount of detachment, and viewed from just the right angle, these collisions can become wonderfully funny and deeply bonding.
This workshop teaches us how to use our differences and other relationship difficulties as inexhaustible sources of good humor, compassionate laughter, and deeper loving.
Through demonstrations, examples from film, play, experiential exercises, group sharing, and lots of laughter, we learn how to see the comedy inherent in every relationship. We explore the delicate art of using generous and gentle humor to point out one another’s blind spots, practice holding relationship struggles more lightly, and discover that we are so much more than our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and expectations, and so much more than our limiting identities and stuck patterns of relating.
This workshop is useful for couples and helping professionals.
