Description

We are no longer taking online registrations for this workshop.

In Katonah Yoga, asana is seen as metaphor. How you move through a forward bend, for example, reflects how you move forward—or don’t—from day to day.

The goal of Katonah Yoga is a healthy body and greater consciousness. Poses are used to explore and free up your body, mind, and ultimately your life.

Guided by Katonah Yoga founder, Nevine Michaan, and Katonah Yoga instructors Abbie Galvin and David Regelin, you practice classical hatha yoga and breathing techniques (pranayama), and explore the power of the practice as you develop your depths for stability, your capacity to participate in the world, and your ability to carry yourself across the thresholds of life by creating safety, sanity, resiliency, and self-actualization.

In this 5-day workshop, you gain an enhanced understanding of yourself and learn the tools, techniques, and blueprints necessary to develop a potent and sustainable practice that transcends yoga trends and brands, and shows you how to participate in your own well-being.

Anyone at any level of yoga experience is invited.

Abbie Galvin

Abbie Galvin is a yoga instructor at Katonah Yoga. She blends her creative process as a filmmaker and her psychoanalytic training into a yoga practice that encourages dialogue between her students’ conscious and unconscious selves. katonahyoga.com

Nevine Michaan

Nevine Michaan founded Katonah Yoga in 1991. Her understanding of setting asanas upon a mental compass that allows sustained study and imaginative deepening grew out of her study of Iyengar Yoga while exploring the confluence of yoga, Confucianism, and Taoist theory. katonahyoga.com

David Regelin

A teacher at Katonah Yoga, David Regelin is interested in the ongoing exploration of yoga’s potential, depth, and complexity. Over his 10 years of practice, he has shifted from simply working hard, to working efficiently, methodically, architecturally, and imaginatively. davidregelinyoga.com
