Afternoon Community Workshops
Each afternoon, gather with other creative spirits to explore the theme of metamorphosis through collaborative community art projects with multiple teachers. Each day you select one or more afternoon collaborative sessions. You can choose to work on the same collaborative project all week, or dabble and find creative inspiration by trying something new each afternoon. Explore, learn new skills, have fun! You have the option to do as much or as little as you want.
And as you gain new inspiration through working on community art projects, your creative expressions will also help inspire and delight others. All artwork created during the afternoon collaborations will be donated through Berkshire Farm Center to beautify and brighten the lives of foster children and teens in need—from infants to 18 year olds.
Join us at Arts Week and put the heart back in art.
Join the Celebration and Collaboration!
From wood-working, painting, and writing to circus performance, music improv, and singing—there is something inspiring for everyone. Choose one afternoon collaborative session each day, or dabble and roam between several projects. The choice is yours!
Daniel Mack and Vicki Payne will lead a group to create wood and glass mobiles, wind chimes, sun-catchers, window pieces, sculptures, and more for the teen girls and foster children of Berkshire Farms. In addition, the trees on campus at Omega will benefit from some of the hanging glass treatments to make our campus sparkle!
Oran Etkin and The Western Wind will lead groups to create tracks for a CD that will be gifted to the children of Berkshire Farms. The created music will play in daycare centers, nurseries, and the teen-learning centers.
Jim Mendrinos and others lead groups in creating as many film shorts as they can for the children of Berkshire Farms. Humor is a great healing tool for all kids.
Marla Baggetta, Robert Rodriguez, Jr., and Rosary O'Neill lead groups in the creation of a wide range of projects—decorative art that can be placed on walls, picture books, story books for the children’s library, or given as individual gifts, greeting cards, and other creative items that will brighten a child’s day.
Peter Gold and other circus performers collaborate to prepare groups to perform in Circus Night, which will be enjoyed by all—including a number of the Berkshire Farm children who will be taking a field trip to enjoy the performance at Omega!
