Medical & Health Care

We would like to introduce you to Bonnie R. Schizzano, our 24-hour-a-day on-site registered nurse. Bonnie has provided Omega Teen Camp medical and health care since our first season and loves her role as nurse and healer for the campers and staff. Bonnie helps campers and staff to have an awareness of safety and is prepared for the many diverse needs that may arise. She likes to integrate holistic treatments when appropriate.

Bonnie is a registered nurse with a background in acute care in the units of medical-surgical, oncology, cardiac surgery, and chemical dependency. Her experience gives her a special understanding of illness and recovery, and contributes to her unique ability to recognize each individual’s needs.

Kathleen Waddell, RN

Kathleen Waddell also provides medical and health care at Omega Teen Camp. She and her two sons have been in and around the Omega community for years as participants in Family Week and Omega Teen Camp. She really enjoys working with the high energy and health needs of teens, and addresses the health issues of our campers with compassion and dedication.

Early in her career as an Air Force flight nurse, Kathleen traveled around the world discovering many types of cultures and the healing modalities they used. She grew interested in studying complementary and alternative approaches to medicine and became a licensed massage therapist and certified Bonnie Prudden Myotherapist. She and her doctor partner have been practicing traditional and alternative medicine for more than 20 years. She also has a private practice focusing on musculoskeletal pain, and is studying aromatherapy.

Medical Coverage & Facilities

Our registered nurse, Bonnie R. Schizzano, is on the premises 24 hours a day. There is also a fully-equipped infirmary at camp. Our local physician's office is less than 10 minutes away and we are just 15 minutes from the local hospital in Carmel, New York.
