Steven Michael Pague, one of Omega’s founding staff members and a lifelong student and practitioner of qigong, guides us through qigong meditations and movements such as “serving tea,” “inner rivers flowing,” and “eight pieces of silk.” We also learn about the history, philosophy, and healing principals of qigong, including movements with sound specifically designed to relax, tone, and heal the organs.
As we cultivate and replenish life force with qigong exercises, special emphasis is placed on breath, posture, and mindful attention. This eclectic blend of Taoist and Buddhist qigong includes a wonderful and unusual set of the ancient “animal frolics.” Everyone returns home with a new or refreshed personal practice and the inspiration to make qigong exercises an ongoing part of daily life.
