Description

Writing can be an exploration of consciousness, a practice leading us toward greater self-awareness.

Many of our greatest spiritual teachers from around the world were, and are, writers. During our time together, we reflect on the gifts of Sappho, Pema Chödrön, Rumi, Thomas Merton, Jack Kornfield, and the Dalai Lama, and on our own gifts, as we explore writing as a path to awakening to our true nature.

Through sitting meditation, writing exercises, readings, standing meditation, question-and-answer sessions, sharing, and discussions led by Albert Flynn DeSilver, we engage our innate creativity and experience increased levels of awareness.

We also learn innovative writing prompts and techniques, ways to free ourselves from writing blocks, and how to access deeper levels of creativity, while we gain a more thorough understanding of the connection between creativity and consciousness.

This retreat is open to all but optimum for people with a committed sitting mindfulness meditation and writing practice of at least two years.
