5th Annual
Yoga Service Conference
Supporting Practice & Building Community

May 13–15
Course 1102-568

Tuition: Tiered Pricing - Tuition $420/345/270/195

How can we adapt our yoga—in and out of the studio—to meet the needs of individual students, no matter who they are or what their circumstances may be? How do we effectively and compassionately offer yoga and mindfulness classes for at-risk youth, first responders, survivors of trauma, or others during times of vulnerability, while still caring for ourselves?

Join us as we gather to celebrate our practice, purpose, and the growing yoga service movement at the fifth annual Yoga Service Conference, presented by the Yoga Service Council and Omega Institute. Throughout this supportive weekend, we gather concrete tools to integrate directly into our work with others.

You do not need to be a yoga teacher to share these transformative practices with your community and radically improve lives. Social workers and health-care providers, school teachers and counselors, yoga and mindfulness teachers, and others will find the resources, tools, inspiration, and support to reflect on their role as individuals, and as a community, and explore the challenging questions that must be raised if we are to make yoga inclusive, effective, sustainable, and accessible to all.

Together, through lectures, workshops, practices, and discussions, we:
•    Discover ways to adapt yoga to meet unique individual needs
•    Learn to use yoga effectively in clinical or therapeutic settings
•    Address issues of diversity, inclusion, safety, and the influence of implicit bias
•    Discuss how to start, grow, and sustain a yoga service organization or network
•    Examine the benefits and challenges of introducing yoga and mindfulness practices to a variety of communities

Choose from three breakout workshop pathways designed for yoga teachers, social service providers, and leaders of yoga service organizations. Optional roundtable discussions and mentoring sessions with advisors and board members from the Yoga Service Council are available. We also gather for a special celebratory event with Spring Ecstatic Chant on Saturday night.

You return home with a renewed sense of purpose and passion, expanded networking and community building skills, and the heartfelt inspiration you need to continue making a difference in the world.

You will have the opportunity to choose from classes across three distinct tracks of study designed for yoga teachers, social service providers, and leaders of nonprofit organizations. See Schedule for breakout workshop descriptions and special schedule. A limited number of props and mats will be available in classrooms, and will be for sale at the Omega Store; please bring your own if you can. The YSC will be offering a limited number of full tuition scholarships for the conference; applications will be available beginning December 1 (for more information, please visit Teachers and schedule are subject to change.
