Have you always wanted to swing dance but are afraid to try? Convinced you have two left feet? Or think you can’t because you have no partner? Maybe you know how to swing dance but can’t seem to break through self-imposed barriers to find your hidden superstar dancer.
What if you could release the rhetoric in your mind and enjoy the freedom and joy of dancing? Linda Freeman and Chester Freeman’s holistic approach to dancing teaches the body how to dance and the mind how to let it. Through a careful blend of visualization, journaling, goal setting, movement, and rhythm, you find yourself falling in love with this fun and versatile dance.
Learn cool moves and build skills that allow you to swing dance with anyone for the rest of your life, as well as body awareness, and leading and following techniques that allow you to tap into your innate ability to break through to the next level of dancing. Through movie clips and discussion you also gain inspiration and an understanding of the history of swing dance, also known as lindy hop and jitterbug.
All levels welcome. No partner necessary.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes with backs.
The Children's Program is generally available during standard workshop hours only. Contact Omega registration at 800.944.1001 for details.
