By John Todd

In the 1980s, ecological visionary John Todd noticed that too many friends from his Cape Cod hometown were dying of cancer.

The potential culprit? A concrete pit into which were dumped an unimaginable array of deadly waste chemicals. The pit was only eight feet above the town's drinking water table.

In this excerpt from the Omega Center for Sustainable Living's Seeds of Change Conference, Todd describes how he was able to purify the toxic mixture through a series of vats containing more than 10,000 species of beneficial organisms.

Todd is the inventor of the Eco Machine™, a natural water-reclamation system in use at the OCSL.
