Asian Bodywork Therapy
Most Asian bodywork sessions take place on a futon mattress on the floor. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
Shiatsu is an ancient Asian bodywork healing art that promotes relaxation and well-being. Like acupuncture, the goal is to improve the flow of qi, or life force, and support the natural healing ability of the body, mind, and spirit. This is accomplished by using gentle stretching and gentle finger and palm pressure along the body's energetic pathways.
Improve the flow of qi and support your body’s healing through gentle stretches and pressure along the body’s meridians. Table Shiatsu takes place on a massage table and is great for those experiencing it for the first time.
A unique synthesis of hatha yoga from India and acupressure from Thailand, Thai massage uses reflexology, gentle rocking, rhythmic compression, a variety of stretching movements, yoga postures, and work on the body’s energy lines to address specific problems, increase flexibility, and help you relax deeply.
AMMA Therapy is a classic form of Oriental massage that originated 5,000 years ago. It is based on the principles of qi as a life force energy that flows through the body. AMMA Therapy uses acupressure point release and muscular release to provide a deep treatment to the body’s fascia. It rebalances energy and restores physical well-being by addressing the pathways of internal energy, the musculoskeletal system, and lymphatic circulation. AMMA Therapy helps to release patterns of physical distress while restoring natural function and integrity of the energetic system.
Tui Na is a Chinese medical massage that includes meridian stimulation (by hand or with acupuncture needles), deep tissue and sports massage, stretching, and other techniques. Using the traditional Chinese medical theory of channels and collaterals, meridians, and qi as its therapeutic orientation, Tui Na seeks to establish a harmonious movement of qi through the system, allowing the body to naturally heal itself.
