Take a deep dive into the chakras with Thomas Shivanand Amelio and learn how these yogic practices can be a powerful means for healing and evolution.

Chakras are spiritual, psychological, and emotional energy centers that exist within our subtle body. Ideally, each chakra works in harmony with the rest. However, for most of us, the full expression of our chakras is hampered by long-held negative conditionings and suppressions (samskaras/karmas). For example, a fifth chakra calling to expressively create can be constrained by a first chakra fear of losing security.

Guided by yogi Thomas Shivanand Amelio, in this immersion retreat we learn the experiential, vibrational, and energetic yogic practices that can resolve these disharmonies and bring each chakra to full radiance.

We explore the unique purpose and function of each chakra, as well as mantras, deities, and archetypes associated with the chakras—including the five elements (mahabutas)—and the yogic practices of vichara (inquiry), pranayama (breath practice), mudra (hand seals), bandha (energy locks), and kumbhaka (breath holding). We also learn simple postures to bring greater clarity and harmony to our inner and outer lives.

Anyone looking to develop a profound chakra sadhana practice is welcome. No previous experience is necessary.

Faculty recommends you read the following book in preparation for the course:
