Weak, unconscious expressions of the planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars correspond closely to the “three poisons” in Buddhism: blinding ignorance, mesmerizing desire, and violent anger. All three of these planets orbit close to the Sun, and so are prone to defending the ego’s self-centered view. In this workshop astrologer Stephen Forrest shows us how to harness these energies and transform them from obstacles into allies.
Whether you are working on your own chart or reading for a friend or client, you learn that by understanding Mars correctly you can alchemize anger and resentment into courage, sexiness, and a sense of adventure. Instead of laziness and romantic illusions—qualities typically associated with Venus—Forrest shows us how to channel this energy into inner peace, creativity, and a clear sense of who is good for us and who isn’t. By reflex, Mercury can show up as worry and defensiveness, but when used consciousy, can be harnessed into vibrant curiosity, helpful insight, and alert mindfulness.
