There is a profound need for conscious elders at this point in history—for those who are not just getting older but who would like their second half of life to be full of growth, purpose, and service.

Guided by conscious aging pioneer Ron Pevny, learn how to set about doing the emotional and spiritual inner work that is required to become a conscious elder. In conversation, ceremony, and reflective time outdoors, we review our lives, explore our legacies, and clarify our intentions. We explore the five foundations of conscious aging—belief, release, purpose, community, and spiritual deepening—and identify and release old patterns that no longer serve us. As we open to new possibilities, we begin to chart a path to claiming and embodying our potential as an elder using this new paradigm.

Anyone over 50 is welcome, including retirees, career shifters, and those in mid-career.

Faculty recommends you read the following books and articles in preparation for the course:

  • From Age-Ing to Sage-Ing: A Revolutionary Approach to Growing Older by Zalman Schachter Shalomi and Ronald S. Miller
  • Conscious Living, Conscious Aging: Embrace & Savor Your Next Chapter by Ron Pevny
  • Any of Ron Pevny’s articles found on www.centerforconsciouseldering.com

Faculty asks that you bring the following items with you to the course:

  • Notebook or journal and pen or pencil
  • Appropriate clothing for being outdoors
  • Poems or readings that you find inspirational, especially concerning the opportunities and challenges of aging
  • A small object that is sacred to you to place on the group altar we will create
