Storytelling for Children

- Rhinebeck, NY
Transform your inspiration into tangible artwork and original stories for audiences of all ages with award-winning children's author Peter McCarty.

An open mind is vital to teaching about—and truly understanding—life. Drawing from the everyday world and experience, you can carve a wide-open path of creativity to transform your inspiration into tangible artwork and original stories for audiences of all ages.

Unleash your artistic skills and liberate yourself from preconceived ideas in this hands-on workshop for all levels with award-winning children's author Peter McCarty. Through sharing, experiential exercises, and presentations, you learn to develop a narrative, improve storytelling methods, and create multifaceted characters. You also get detailed guidance in how to write a manuscript, edit rough drafts, and approach publishers with proposals.

The wonder of a child’s point of view is a fountainhead of awe for storytellers through the ages. Whether you have an idea brewing, or simply a deep-seated love of children's literature, discover with a fresh heart the inspiration all around us.
