A 5-Day Intensive in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Jul 16 - Jul 21 2017 Rhinebeck, NY

We are no longer taking online registrations for this workshop.

Learn to integrate mindfulness into daily life in this 5-day MBSR intensive with Florence Meleo-Meyer and Robert Smith.

Are you ready to be proactive about your health and well-being? Do you want to acquire new tools for living with more strength and resilience, and support your clients and patients to do so, too?

Integrating Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) practices into your life is a short-term investment that will help you live with greater ease, joy, depth, and balance every day.

This challenging and life-affirming workshop in MBSR is based on the 8-week Stress Reduction Program founded in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Highly respected within the medical community, the program supports health enhancement and wellness, with a focus on prevention and learning how to take good care of yourself. It is designed for professionals who want to deal more effectively with work burn-out and stress and for all who want to live healthier, more engaged lives.

Florence Meleo-Meyer and Robert Smith, senior teachers at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, adapt the lessons of the Stress Reduction Program to this 5-day intensive format and guide you in learning and practicing mindfulness skills in a safe, supportive, and highly participatory structured learning environment.

Through group and individual instruction, you learn step-by-step how to practice and integrate mindfulness into your daily life, and rediscover the healthy balance that lies beneath life’s turbulent changes.

Upon completion, participants will be better able to teach their clients to:

  • Use the tools of MBSR to cope more effectively with both short- and long-term stress
  • Teach clients to develop greater self-respect, energy, and enthusiasm for life
  • Provide resilience training to clients
  • Utilize MBSR to reduce stress and burn-out
  • Discuss how MBSR can produce lasting improvements in physical and psychological well-being
  • Describe how mindfulness can be cultivated and integrated in everyday life.
