We are no longer taking online registrations for this workshop.

We spend many moments in a trance of feeling separate from others, deficient, and afraid of failure. Yet we intuit a deeper potential—to embody the loving awareness that is our deepest nature.

This meditation retreat with Tara Brach, the inspiring Buddhist teacher and best-selling author of Radical Acceptance, explores how, even in the face of conflict and challenge, we can connect with our deepest wisdom and compassion. Through meditation, guided exercises, and discussions, learn how to recognize and release the fears, judgments, and limiting beliefs that prevent you from living and loving fully.

The weekend includes periods of silence, as well as interpersonal sharing in a safe and supportive setting. This workshop is open to beginning and experienced meditators, and is also designed to help all levels of healthcare professionals become familiar with the applications of teachings from Buddhist psychology and mindfulness and compassion practices and apply it to their own lives, and the lives of their patients.

Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Identify basic principles of Buddhist Psychology and explain their relevance in evaluating treatment options for anxiety and depression
  • Examine the role and mediating mechanisms of meditation practices in healing emotional suffering
  • Utilize Buddhist mindfulness and compassion practices in addressing fear, grief, anger and shame
  • Recognize the contra-indications of various attentional strategies in addressing traumatic fear
  • Explain meditative strategies that address interpersonal conflict
  • Differentiate the components of varying attentional strategies
