Learning to master the tools of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Ericksonian Hypnosis connects us to the inner resources needed to meet both challenges that we choose to pursue as well as the ones that life presents us with. By utilizing interactive exercises and short demonstrations, we will share anchoring and reframing techniques that will help you maintain your center, your confidence, your compassion and self worth in situations that have triggered a “stuck state.” Participants will learn how to use hypnotic language when guiding others and themselves.
Since the mid-1980s, Hott has been leading NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis workshops with people ranging from ages 18-88 with all backgrounds and professions. The best way to prepare is to come with a curious and open mind and willingness to participate. NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis skills help you remain resourceful in all situations.
Faculty recommends you read the following books in preparation for the course:
- NLP: A Changing Perspective by Rachel Hott and Steven Leeds (specifically the chapters on hypnosis, anchoring and reframing)
- A Guide to Trance Land: A Practical Handbook of Ericksonian and Solution-Oriented Hypnosis by Bill O’Hanlon (a good beginner’s book on hypnosis)
