Gain a deeper understanding of the creative process as you journey through significant events of your life guided by award-winning writer Chris Wells.

Telling your own story has the potential to illuminate a deeper understanding of your self, your purpose, and where you are on your own path.

In this joyful and engaging exploration of life, designed exclusively for Omega Arts Week, award-winning storyteller Chris Wells leads you on an adventure of discovering your greatest stories.

Through an evocative combination of conversations, writing prompts, and assignments designed to take you on a journey of rediscovery through the most significant events of your life, you gain practical and effective tools for making art from life experience.

Your creations are shared at the end of the week as the retreat culminates in a transformative storytelling performance. Folks leave with a story they can tell on their feet, as well as a more integrated, empowered self.

Enrollment is limited for this program; register early.

Arts Week

Calling all artists! Be a part of one of the most creative and community building weeks of the year—Omega Arts Week. Immerse yourself in your art—painting, storytelling, writing, trapeze, movement, and more—during mornings and afternoons. Mingle with other creative souls during mealtimes and evening events. Share what you've created during participant showcases on Thursday night. All are welcome, from the budding to the accomplished artist. Join us as we celebrate and support the creative spirit. Faculty asks that you bring the following items with you to the course:

  • One idea to work on for the duration
  • Materials for writing (If you write on a laptop, bring it. Pen and paper? Bring them, etc.)
  • An object that is personally revealing (This is intentionally vague: some people bring food, or flowers, or a photo of their family, a memento - up to you)
  • One fancy garment (a sparkly shawl, a top, a vest)
  • A version of someone else’s story that you love (A book, essay, movie, etc., up to you)
  • A photo of an artistic hero (Preferably a tangible image but if you can only find it in digital form, that’s cool)
