Learn more about some of the research work of licensed clinical psychologist Julie Cerel.

Suicide rates have increased by nearly 25% in the last two decades, now claiming more lives than car accidents each year. Those recovering from a suicide attempt benefit greatly from the support and connectedness of a network of people who care about them. However, the people in the network themselves also require support and assistance.

This retreat for professionals brings together leading experts with specialties in grief management, treating anxiety and depression in childhood through adulthood, and suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention.

We focus on post-traumatic growth and self-care to find support after the loss of a loved one or client to suicide. We work in smaller sharing groups, do creativity and meaning-making exercises, share clinical case findings, and turn toward advocacy to discover new pathways to hope, healing, and empowerment.

This workshop is intended for people who have lost a client or loved one to suicide who are working in the field of suicide prevention and postvention, or who are engaged in clinical work. It is not intended for very recent survivors, but for those who have processed their loss over time and now want to examine the impact of that loss on their personal and professional lives.
