Andrea Brook is an international performing artist and yoga teacher who uniquely combines music, dance, and yoga to help individuals facilitate change in their lives. As part of her repertoire for the past 10 years, she has played a musical instrument called the Earth Harp, the world’s largest string instrument, and uses its sonic vibrations as part of her healing work. She is also associate director of MASS (Musical Architecture Sonic Sculpture) Ensemble, a visual, musical performing arts company that performs around the world for performing arts centers, festivals, and corporate events.
As one of the key performers since she joined the ensemble in 2001, Brook performs with one-of-a-kind, musical instruments in a variety of venues, from theaters to natural environments. Brook and MASS have presented visually and sonically stunning performances around the world, including performances at the Coliseum in Rome, the Space Needle in Seattle, the Grand Theater in Shanghai, a temple in Vietnam, and a 9th-century castle in Italy.
“My life purpose is to assist individuals in becoming conscious of their thoughts and feelings, to trust their own self, understanding the body, mind, emotions, and spirit, and to live their own truth fully empowered by their own wisdom without hesitation or fear,” she writes.
She has been teaching yoga since 1998. Her yoga studies include Integral Yoga with Swami Vivekananda Saraswati in Rishikesh, India and Astanga Yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. With her partner at MASS Ensemble, Andrea Brook produced a CD, Chakra Beats.
