Workshop

The Authentic Writing Studio

Aug 18 - Aug 23 2019 Rhinebeck, NY

We are no longer taking registrations for this workshop.

Practice writing from your real life experiences in this Authentic Writing workshop with Marta Szabo.

For more than 20 years, Authentic Writing has been creating a studio where writing happens. We work entirely from life, writing down the moments we have lived, letting the writing itself lead the way so that we are always entering new territory—no maps, no plans. We go for the concrete and the real, trusting the images that come to mind and putting them into words without hesitation. In this way the unique quality of each story and writing voice quickly emerges.

Periods of writing alternate with opportunities to read what we’ve written. Responses to each other’s work is specifically designed to support each writer in going further and writing more.

Whether you have written for years or not at all, by week’s end you have a collection of pieces that only you could have written and an invigorated sense of who you are as a person, a writer, and an artist.
