Workshop

The Ruby

Awakening the Treasure In Your Chest

Jun 16 - Jun 21 2019 Rhinebeck, NY
Explore the multi-faceted nature of "The Ruby" through meditation and awareness practices from the Sufi and Buddhist traditions, guided by Saki F. Santorelli.

We have a treasure within us. We were born with it. Yet, much of the time it seems like we have forgotten our true inheritance. We walk around as if we are poor while closer to us than our breath is a treasury—sometimes referred to by the Sufis as the ruby.

Reclaiming this jewel will cost us a lot—some say everything. Rumi refers to our willingness to enter our depths and be set free, “the pick and shovel work.” This is the human journey—the great, alchemical transformation of stone to ruby buried deep within us.

Fueled by the universal longing to remember what we already are, we enter the vastness and beauty of our humanity. Offering particular attention to the cultivation of the heart, through meditation and silence, stillness and movement, poetry and story, and moments of dialogue and inquiry, we learn how to enter, relax, and polish the heart.  We explore what hinders and what opens us to embodying our ruby-nature as a means of acting wisely and warmly in the world out of love and service to others.
