Join Laurel Parnell in this 7-day professional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful therapeutic method for healing trauma-based problems.

Laurel Parnell has trained thousands of clinicians in EMDR. Find out how she first found the modality.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic method for healing trauma-based problems. Shedding new light on trauma survival—including sexual and physical abuse, accident and surgical trauma, and grief—EMDR is opening the doors of the heart to genuine spiritual transformation. Through lecture, hands-on practice, and demonstrations, we learn:

  • Protocols and procedures for using EMDR with a wide range of diagnostic categories
  • Client selection criteria and cautions necessary for safe use of EMDR
  • Techniques for working with blocked processing and abreactions (catharsis)
  • How to use EMDR with adults traumatized as children
  • Methods for developing inner resources used for interweaves, ego strengthening, and client closure
  • How to integrate EMDR into clinical practice with a range of clients and presenting problems

As per Parnell Institute guidelines attendance is limited to mental health professionals who have a master’s degree or higher in the mental health field and are licensed or certified through a state or national board, which authorizes independent practice.

CE and CME credits will be available and included in the tuition. However, you must register for CE/CMEs and it is required that you attend all sessions for CE/CME certification. Check back in March for more information on CE/CMEs for this program.
