Develop knowledge to facilitate safer spaces through trauma-conscious yoga training with Amina Naru, Pamela Stokes Eggleston, and other trauma experts.

Amina Naru and Pamela Stokes Eggleston explain why teaching trauma-sensitive yoga is crucial.

Trauma-conscious yoga is steeped in cultural sensitivity, compassion, and knowledge of the nervous system and brain. It is important for yoga instructors to be trauma conscious to create a brave, safe, and sacred space.

This trauma training is led by Amina Naru and Pamela Stokes Eggleston, two African American women who are yoga teachers with various traumatic experiences—PTSD, incarceration, sexual trauma, historic and intergenerational trauma—that they lean on to inform their contemplative practices.

Learn to view trauma through the lens of social justice: how it affects the body, nervous system, brain, and spirit; the role of toxic masculinity and femininity, patriarchy, and colonialism; and the power of self care, community care, and service.
