Learn to safely and effectively teach trauma-sensitive, evidenced-based yoga and meditation to service members, veterans, and their families. Gain a deeper understanding of military culture, combat-related stress, and military sexual trauma, and how it may affect a yoga student. You learn and practice:
- Self-Care techniques and ways to reduce anxiety and depression
- Asana sequence protocols and modifications for adaptive yoga (chair and restorative yoga) for war-related trauma or injury, post-traumatic stress, or those with amputations or limited mobility
- Therapeutic approaches for developing resiliency, recovery, and prevention of injuries
- Ways to integrate trauma-sensitive guidelines and precautions for specific populations into your own yoga teaching style
You also learn how to begin a yoga class in a military or veteran community, or in clinical settings such as a hospital or clinic.
This training is open only to certified yoga teachers who have completed the Warriors at Ease Level 1 Teacher Training (available through Yoga International). Skills taught in this training are applicable to military and veteran populations, as well as first responders, aid workers, and other populations where similar health conditions exist.
