Strengthen your body, calm your mind, and revitalize your spirit with this unique blend of yoga and Bodymind Ballwork.

Bring more circulation and ease to your joints with this Bodymind Ballwork exercise demonstrated by Ellen Saltonstall.

This workshop inspires participants to develop a sustainable home yoga practice, building bone and muscle strength, skillful balance, and tension release. We look at the biomechanics of key areas of the body, and practice poses specifically chosen and adapted to help realign and dissolve tension while also building strength.

Come away with fun, practical, and effective ways to foster healthy aging. Classes include Bodymind Ballwork, a bodywork method using rubber balls which dramatically eases tension in the muscles, connective tissue, and joints. We also practice pranayama and meditation, underscoring our magnificent body-mind-spirit connection.

Faculty recommends you read the following books in preparation for the course:

  • Anatomy & Yoga: A Guide for Teachers and Students by Ellen Saltonstall, John W. Karapelou, et al.
  • The Bodymind Ballwork Method: A Self-Directed Practice to Help You Move With Ease, Release Tension & Relieve Chronic Pain by Ellen Saltonstall
  • Yoga for Osteoporosis: The Complete Guide by Loren Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall
  • Yoga for Arthritis: The Complete Guide by Loren Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall

Faculty will bring rubber balls you may use during the class. After the conclusion of the class, you may purchase these from the Faculty or simply return them.

Please note that Omega will not be providing yoga mats to borrow, so you must bring one with you or purchase a mat at the Omega Store. Also, faculty asks that you bring any of your personal props you would like to use in the course, such as blocks, bolsters, long straps, etc.
