Looking for a great way to start the Yoga Service Conference? Choose one of three Preconference Intensives on May 19 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) to deeply immerse yourself in important topics in the field of yoga service. These intensives can be taken alone, or as part of the Yoga Service Conference. Learn more.

How can we adapt our yoga—in and out of the studio—to meet the needs of individual students, no matter who they are or what their circumstances may be? How do we effectively and compassionately offer yoga and mindfulness classes for survivors of trauma, young people, veterans and first responders, and others during times of vulnerability, while still caring for ourselves? How do we offer yoga that is accessible, inclusive, and effective for all individuals, and how is this work connected to creating positive social change?

Join us as we gather to celebrate our practice, purpose, and the growing yoga service movement at the sixth annual Yoga Service Conference, presented by the Yoga Service Council and Omega Institute. Throughout this supportive weekend, we explore concrete tools to integrate directly into our work with others.

You do not need to be a yoga teacher to share these transformative practices with your community and radically improve lives. Social workers and health-care providers, school teachers and counselors, yoga and mindfulness teachers, and others will find the resources, tools, inspiration, and support to reflect on their role as individuals, and as a community, and explore the challenging questions that must be raised if we are to make yoga inclusive, effective, sustainable, and accessible to all.

Together, through lectures, workshops, practices, and discussions, we:

  • Discover ways to adapt yoga to meet individual and community needs
  • Learn embodied practices to cultivate resilience and well-being
  • Explore trauma-informed yoga for children and adults
  • Address issues of cultural competency, inclusion, safety, and the influence of implicit bias
  • Discuss how to start, grow, and sustain a yoga service organization, including fundraising and evaluation opportunities
  • Examine the benefits and challenges of introducing yoga and mindfulness practices to a variety of communities

Choose from breakout workshops designed to teach skills, build capacity, and support personal reflection and growth. Optional roundtable discussions and mentoring sessions with advisors and board members from the Yoga Service Council are available. You can also enjoy a networking and exhibit event on Saturday evening, where you can connect with yoga service organizations from around the world.

You return home with a renewed sense of purpose and passion, expanded networking and community building skills, and the heartfelt inspiration you need to continue making a difference in the world.

A limited number of props and mats will be available in classrooms, and will be for sale at the Omega Store; please bring your own if you can.
