Jill Satterfield

Jill Satterfield, a leading yoga and meditation teacher, educator, and mind/body counselor, is founder of Vajra Yoga + Meditation, a synthesis of yoga and Buddhism that combines meditation, yoga, visualization, and contemplation practices. Vajra Yoga has been offered in meditation and yoga centers, hospitals, mental health facilities, addiction centers, and alternative-to-incarceration facilities around the United States, and in nunneries and monasteries in worldwide.

Satterfield is also founder and director of the School for Compassionate Action: Meditation, Yoga, and Education for Communities in Need and Those Who Serve Them, a nonprofit based in New York City that trains teachers and works directly with specific populations providing yoga, yoga therapy, and meditation to at-risk youth and people with chronic pain and illnesses, PTSD, and addictions.

Jill Satterfield has been teaching for 30 years and is on the founding faculty of Spirit Rock Meditation Center’s Mindfulness Meditation for Yoga Teacher Training. She has been featured in many publications, including the New York Times, Yoga Journal ,Tricycle, and Self, and was named one of four leading yoga and Buddhist teachers in the country by Shambhala Sun.
