Laurie Lico Albanese

Laurie Lico Albanese is a journalist and award-winning novelist and poet. Her books include Blue Suburbia: Almost a Memoir, Lynelle By the Sea, and the Miracles of Prato, co-written with art historian Laura Morowitz. Her travel and general-interest pieces have appeared in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, Mothering, Coastal Living, and other periodicals.

She has taught creative and formal writing to all ages, from elementary schoolchildren to adults. She is founder of Studio 129, a writing workshop in Montclair, New Jersey, and cofounder of the Girls Center, a creative self-esteem program for middle school girls in Scarsdale, New York. She has taught literature and creative writing at Montclair Kimberley Academy in New Jersey and at Wagner College in New York City.
