Leslie Salmon Jones

Leslie Salmon Jones, creator of Afro Flow Yoga™, is a professional dancer, certified holistic personal trainer, wellness coach, and yoga instructor. She began ballet and Afro-Caribbean dance at the age of seven. Nearly 20 years ago, through her intensive dance training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Jones was first introduced to yoga. Since then, she has studied and trained with teachers of White Cloud Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Universal Force Yoga, and more.
Jones was first inspired to fuse dance with yoga to create Afro Flow Yoga™ during her extensive travels throughout Africa and the Caribbean. She has produced two wellness DVDs.
Jones attributes her strong foundation and core values to her mother, Beverley Salmon, former nurse and grassroots politician, and her father, John Douglas Salmon, Canada’s first black chief of surgery. Both were civil rights activists. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Leslie Salmon Jones teaches, trains, speaks, and performs internationally.
