Joy Lynn Okoye

Joy Lynn Okoye is a movement and voice alchemist, sacred storyteller, and yoga nidra meditation teacher whose work bridges movement, sound, and Spirit. A trauma-informed 500-hour yoga teacher trained in restorative, Yin, adaptive, and somatic modalities, she creates sacred, body-based spaces for grief, rest, and reclamation. Her yoga nidra meditations weave vibrational sound, intuitive voice, and poetic storytelling—portals of rest, remembrance, and transformation.

Joy has been part of the JourneyDance® community for more than a decade, serving as a senior teacher and lead trainer and helping design and facilitate the online teacher-training curriculum. She continues to mentor new facilitators and, in partnership with founder Toni Bergins, she cocreated The Remedy and Angst to Art.

As the founder of the SoulEase™ Method, Joy integrates slow flow movement, yoga nidra, sound healing, and somatic writing to support women in threshold seasons of loss and transformation. Her teaching invites participants into ritual spaces where truth is honored, voice is reclaimed, and healing becomes a return to self. A singer-songwriter, sound healer, and emerging poet, Joy has released a full-length album of original music.
