Summer Fun: Omega Teen Camp Activities
Some of the best parts of camp are making new friends and connecting with others through creative, social, or physical activities. At Omega Teen Camp (OTC), participants can choose from more than 50 activities available daily that range from talent shows to rock climbing to ninja training. Camp director Adam Simon says he encourages all campers to try things they've never done before. Here's a snapshot of some of the activities that help empower and enrich teens throughout the summer.
Teens often describe camp as "walking into a big hug." Part of creating community is participating in quintessential camp activities like archery, where teens can learn to become more detail-oriented while testing out skills like stance, aim, and release.
A strong stroke is one of the best skills to learn when canoeing. At camp, kids get a chance to learn boat safety skills and enjoy time out on the water together.
The Creative Arts Program at OTC features many activities including this jewelry-making class, where girls and guys flex their creative muscles and design necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more.
While this class sounds perfect for action-film enthusiasts, all teens can hone their skills in this fun movement class that combines karate, tae kwon do, and other martial arts.
Camp is a great place for teens to explore subjects they love or find new hobbies to try. In our photography classes, they learn how to capture great moments from camp and bring their skills back home to use with their friends and family.
Many OTC campers say camp gives them courage. Those with a more adventurous side can challenge themselves on the climbing wall and try other activities like songwriting.
Teens explore their creative interests or deepen their talents and skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. We often hear that teens who picked up a guitar for the first time at camp are playing in bands the following year.
Camp is all about connection and self-awareness. OTC yoga classes encourage teens to explore the relationship of their minds, bodies, and spirits.
