Amanda Kate Nisenson, a native New Yorker, is an award-winning opera singer, yogi, music educator, and interfaith pastor. She studied voice at The Juilliard School, The Manhattan School of Music, and The Academy of Vocal Arts before her career as a dramatic mezzo-soprano took off. For more than a decade, Amanda performed leading roles in opera houses throughout the US and Europe, as well as orchestral concerts, oratorio works, and a one-woman cabaret show.

Due to ongoing vocal issues that resulted in surgery, Amanda found herself voiceless and was forced to stop singing opera. During this time, a spiritual transformation took place which led to a move to Encinitas, California, where she studied yoga and meditation with monks at The Soul of Yoga. It was there that a miracle occurred and her voice came back in a brand new and more authentic way.

After graduating from The Soul of Yoga, Amanda returned to her students in New York City with a mission. Using her newfound teachings of faith, she began to unlock fears and free people’s voices through meditation, spirituality, and yoga. This concept led to her “Free Your Voice” workshops, alongside a LuLulemon ambassadorship as well as speaking engagements, television appearances, podcasts, and concert performances.

Today, Amanda maintains a private teaching studio in New York City and Westport, Connecticut, where she teaches voice, piano, yoga, and biblical study. She also volunteers with the special needs community and leads workshops throughout the country.
