Eric López-Maya

Eric López-Maya has more than 20 years of leadership and teaching in the field of mindfulness. He earned his doctorate in psychology with formal training at institutions such as Harvard, Brown, UMass, and UCLA. He currently serves as the director of the Mexican Institute of Mindfulness, contributing to the landscape of mental health and well-being.

An influential educator, Eric has taught mindfulness courses to numerous corporations including GE, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Epson, Lufthansa, EY, Volkswagen, Novartis, Shell Oil, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the University of Minnesota, among others. He extends his expertise through popular mindfulness applications such as Calm, UCLA mindfulness app, and Breethe.

Eric is the lead teacher of the only MBSR teacher training program designed for people serving historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups at the Brown University Mindfulness Center. He is also the lead author of research papers on mindfulness, including "Mindfulness meditation and improvement in depressive symptoms among Spanish- and English-speaking adults."
