David Bollier is an influential American activist, writer, and policy strategist who focuses on democratic culture, promoting citizen action and reclaiming the Commons. He is cofounder of the Commons Strategies Group and is Senior Fellow at the Norman Lear Center of the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication.
Bollier describes his work as “focused on reclaiming the commons, understanding how digital technologies are changing democratic culture, fighting the excesses of intellectual property law, fortifying consumer rights, and promoting citizen action.”
David Bollier was awarded the 2012 Bosch Berlin Prize in Public Policy at the American Academy in Berlin. Founding editor of On the Commons, he now writes technology-related reports for the Aspen Institute and blogs at his own website, Bollier.org.
