In this immersive, hands-on workshop, we step outside to gather the colors, textures, and stories of the land itself. Together, we forage local plants—berries, bark, leaves, and roots—and transform them into vibrant botanical inks that capture the spirit of place.
Guided by Janne Larsen, you learn how to harvest responsibly, extract pigments, and craft your own natural brushes from regional fibers, stems, and grasses. Each step connects you more deeply to the landscape and the creative process, revealing how art and ecology intertwine. Along the way, we learn the subtleties of painting with botanical inks and experiment with layering, gradients, color mixing, and texture.
The culmination of this workshop is bringing these inks outside and painting the beautiful natural surroundings of Omega on a variety of handmade and professional watercolor paper. This multi-day experience is about slowing down, paying attention, and using what grows around us to create.
Return home with handmade tools, a spectrum of plant-based inks, botanical paintings, and a renewed sense of wonder for your local environment.
