Bridget McGrew

Bridget McGrew was born in England and competed on the Junior Tennis Circuit. She was then a tennis professional for 25 years in the Bronx, Westchester, and Kingston, New York. 

In 2018, Bridget completed a professional certification for teaching pickleball and achieved a certified 4.0 pickleball rating from the USA Pickleball Association. She was the first woman in New York state to receive a professional teaching certificate for pickleball. Now retired, she has played and medaled in many tournaments, including two US Open Pickleball Tournaments in Naples, Florida.

Bridget taught adaptive physical education at the Center for Spectrum Services for 28 years, and taught physical education at a School for the Deaf in the Bronx for 10 years. She received a master’s in physical education from Hunter College, a physical education teacher’s diploma in the art and science of movement, and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Sussex. Bridget teaches pickleball classes in many locations and has a 30-year affiliation with the Kingston YMCA.
