This workshop isn't about becoming a stand-up comic or learning how to be an actor. It’s about reawakening the sense of joy and abandonment we had when we were kids. It's about remembering how to be authentic in imaginary situations. It's about entering the world of improvisation.
Learn tools for creating authentic, interesting characters, letting the characters dictate where an event wants to go, and jumping into a sense of easy flow with other people using nothing but the imagination. With a few simple concepts, we quickly enter into a creative place without feeling strain or self-consciousness.
Bringing a combined 50 years of professional theater experience and 20 years of experience teaching in the performing arts, Anthony Arkin and Amelia Campbell create a supportive, spontaneous group environment. We begin to make conscious connections between our work in the scenes and our own emotional lives. We reconnect with the important work of play. And we have a heck of a good time.
Return home with a greater sense of your own voice, a brighter sense of fun in your field, and a deepened sense of empathy in your collaboration.
This workshop is appropriate for beginning actors as well as any level of professional in any field.
