Unlock more movement through better balance with biomechanist Katy Bowman. Elevate strength, mobility, and dynamic stability with simple exercises.

How stable do you feel while walking, hiking, playing pickleball, or attempting different yoga poses? Good balance not only reduces the chance of injury, it also keeps open the doors to both everyday and extra-special activities.

Balance, strength, and mobility are directly connected to each other, yet many balance exercises are static. Stand on one foot. Look in one spot. These can be helpful, but they don’t fully translate to whole-body activities that depend on whole-body participation in everyday life. Learning to stabilize certain parts while allowing others to move freely is the key to robust, sustainable movement.

Whole-body balance connects all of your parts to each other: your feet to the hips, the core to the shoulders, the pelvis to the head and eyes. Level up your approach and start to train for balance more thoroughly and dynamically while improving your strength and mobility at the same time.

This class will teach you how to:

  • Tell the difference between balance and stability (you need both)
  • Spot the most common "cheats" in balance exercises
  • Deeply connect your core to popular stability moves
  • "Turn up" the work of your outer hips for stronger, fall-resistant walking
  • Adjust the alignment of popular yoga poses to dial up the balance challenge
  • Use everyday household items to work on stability during non-exercise time

Don't miss this chance to start making your movement more sustainable. Unlock more movement with deeper stability.

Join Teachers Studio live on Wednesday, May 15, 5:00-7:00 p.m. ET (2:00-4:00 p.m. PT). For registered participants, this class will be available on demand through July 15, 2024.
