What is Mindfulness?

mind·ful·ness (noun):
The practice of bringing nonjudgmental attention to the present moment.

Since its inception, Omega has maintained a strong commitment to mindfulness practices, presenting a variety of modalities drawn from both spiritual and secular traditions. Beginning with the trailblazing work of Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, the practice of mindfulness meditation has become an increasingly valued part of Omega’s offerings.

With so many distractions in the modern world, the simple yet profound practice of mindfulness helps us develop the ability to deepen our moment-to-moment awareness. And scientific research continues to prove that mindfulness practices are good for us, too.
