Embodiments of Dharma,

With Love in my heart,
With great gratitude, I welcome you all.

Dharma is your service to life. What is the greatest service you can give to life? It is your own self-realization. There are many paths to enlightenment that we can choose in this lifetime. The path of devotion, usually to a realized master or guru, is said to be the path of love. The path of wisdom is another. The path of the renunciant, by withdrawing from the distractions of the world and focusing on the silence within, is still yet another. However, the path of service, of Karma Yoga, is widely chosen by those who live in the world, yet seek to transcend this world.

All paths, like rivers to the sea, bring us towards the same goal, merging into oneness, enlightenment.

Dharma Is More Than What You Do

Dharma means so much more than your path or your service to the world. Dharma is the expression of your soul in service to life. Dharma is both the path that we walk in life, and how we walk it.

Each of us has a unique service to the world. We know when we are not in alignment in our expression of our dharma; this can show up in our lives as depression, restlessness, and unhappiness. When you are resonating with and aligned with your soul purpose, your dharma, obstacles become a new opportunity to adjust your expression of service. This allows for a new level of expansion and alignment with your dharma, rather than pulling you away from it. This is a dance of alignment and grace, allowing you to fulfill this deeper level of your uniqueness in the world. This is the grace of a life lived in the path of service.

Dharma Is Eternal Law

Dharma is the law of existence; all is sustained by that law.  Dharma is the foundation of life, of creation. No one can escape, just simply breathing is and becomes dharma. Dharma is truth, whether we accept it or not.  It is and always will be. It is a law, and its aspect or form may change, but its essence is changeless, eternal, universal, cosmic. We all have come to this loka (dimension) many times. We all have known dharma, whether we accept it or not, it is there.

We take birth each time with this dharma, to learn, to evolve and to cocreate our world, elevating humanity more and more as we each align with our dharma.

I tell you Dharma is the cause of joy, of fulfilment, of happiness, of peace."
    Her Holiness Sai Maa

    Dharma Vs. Adharma

How many are depressed today, restless, and unhappy because there is no dharma? Adharma (not-dharma) has been their path.  I tell you, dharma is the cause of joy, of fulfillment, of happiness, of contentment, of peace. If we continue to neglect dharma, we will suffer, individually and as a whole.

The more we neglect dharma, the more pain there will be. The more you practice dharma, the more you will have a sense of “richness,” you feel “rich.”  Be an example of dharma, and whatever you do as an example, also will be done by others. If you go against your dharma, you will experience the consequences of that seed planted in one way or another. Start by practicing in simple ways, and each small action in alignment with the law of dharma will expand in your life.

Dharma Is an Art of Living

Practice Dharma, so the answer to the main question, “Who am I?” will be revealed to you. The questions, “Where am I going?” and “Where do I come from?” will be answered.

Practice dharma and you will notice peace of mind, calmness, tranquility, and purification, a great sense of being purified, which serves you to realize your identity with God. Living a dharma-based life, you become free effortlessly.

Dharma, yes dharma. Practice dharma. A dharmic-based society serves the welfare of all, creating a collective well-being which brings peace to the whole planet. Dharma brings equanimity, purity, sincerity, equality, togetherness, unity.

Dharma is an art, an art of life, an art of living.  When embedded in dharma, the art of being naturally reveals itself.  May this year be a year based on the laws of dharma.

    Eternally Yours,
    Her Holiness Sai Maa

An Invitation into Self-Inquiry on Dharma

Each day, set aside some time to devote yourself to an exercise in self-assessment of all the roles of service in your life:

    • Let us start off simply by writing the answer to this question: "What is the goal of service in your life?" You may find the goal that you used to have with regards to your service in life has become obsolete and that you want so much more from life now. It will serve as the basis for how service can assist you in reaching your life goals from this point forward.

    • List or journal about all the roles in your life in which you feel you are serving. Service is not just the vocation that pays your salary. Service can be in raising a family. Service can be in offering to serve in community and social organizations. Service can be an expression of art, music, or sports that brings joy to others and yourself. Service can simply be listening or smiling.

    • Each day, pick just one domain of service and write about what that service is and what it means to you. How does performing that service feel?

    • The key to this exercise is to identify those roles in which you are not being nurtured and fully self-expressed in your service to life.

    • What actions will you implement to change those roles that are not resonating with your dharma? Conversely, what actions are you going to implement to expand those domains that are nourishing your soul expression?

    • Now, make a plan and implement those actions!
