Asha Nayaswami

Asha Nayaswami has been practicing and teaching the principles of self-realization for more than 50 years. In 1969, at the age of 22, she met her spiritual teacher, Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. From that time, she has dedicated her life to Kriya Yoga meditation, devotion to God, and service to others.

She is a founding member of two Ananda communities: Ananda Village, a rural spiritual community in Northern California, and Ananda Palo Alto, an urban community and temple in Silicon Valley. She teaches and lectures internationally, and her classes and talks have reached millions worldwide, with thousands of hours of content available online.

Asha is the author of four books: Lightbearer, a biography of Swami Kriyananda; Swami Kriyananda As We Have Known Him; Loved and Protected: Stories of Miracles and Answered Prayers; and Ask Asha: Practical Answers to Everyday Dilemmas on the Spiritual Path.
