Elise Bernhardt started her career in the dance world as a dancer/choreographer and then as a producer of performances in public spaces through the organization she founded, Dancing in the Streets. She went on to lead several other nonprofit arts organizations and after more than three decades, decided to reinvent and founded Fleur Elise Bkln. Elise brings her knowledge of western choreography principles together with her ongoing studies of ikebana (Japanese floral design), creating a mash-up of East and West. She has been teaching floral design since 2018 to families, friends, corporations, and nonprofits, and has been a regular instructor of floral design at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden since 2019.
