Harriet Goslins is the founder of Cortical Field Re-Education®. A Feldenkrais practitioner since 1985 and Integrated Awareness® teacher, her background is in psychosynthesis, applied kinesiology, muscle energy, craniosacral work, and social anthropology.
Harriet is pain-free and takes no medications at 81 years old. She credits her good health to consistent Cranial Facial Release® floor work and table work.
Dick Price (cofounder of Esalen Institute) and his brand of Gestalt therapy started her inward journey. Later, Jack Rosenberg inspired Harriet with his teaching of compassion mixed with unflinching self-exploration.
Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais trainings were the most pivotal years of Harriet’s life, when she found her path. He taught her that our problems are not resolved by “fixing an afflicted area” but by looking at “the failure of the intention to execute the action.” He taught her that it was about dealing with the whole system and about balancing an imbalanced workload so that the body could heal.
Both Dr. John Upledger’s CranioSacral Therapy® and Dr. Jean-Pierre Barral’s Visceral Manipulation® taught her that the mysterious and sacred cranial rhythm is as essential to our survival as our heartbeat. It was Integrated Awareness and its creator, Lansing Barrett Gresham, that taught her that the body cannot lie. Its essential purpose is physical survival. It naturally seeks balance and healing. The body was designed to be in affinity with reality, with the rules of how earth works.
