Jan Guarino is an accomplished watercolor artist, educator, and author whose work celebrates color, spontaneity, and the beauty of the unexpected. She teaches her signature Fearless Watercolors approach at the Art League of Long Island and The Artists Studio at Chelsea Mansion, as well as through plein air classes, destination workshops, and artist trips to Europe. Her teaching encourages students to interpret the world in their own unique way—embracing expressive color, splatters, drips, and the unexpected moments that make watercolor so exciting.
Jan’s work has been exhibited at the Heckscher Museum of Art, William Ris Gallery, Huntington Arts Council, Long Island Museum, The Art Guild, and numerous other venues.
A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Jan also brings more than 40 years of experience as a graphic artist and designer. She draws upon her extensive background in both fine art and graphic design in her teaching, sharing the skills, principles, and creative confidence she has developed throughout her career.
Above all, Jan finds joy in helping students discover their own artistic voices and experience the freedom and possibility of watercolor.
